P700 Series U-Joint Cross

About this part

The P700 Series U-Joint Cross is a specific type of universal joint (U-joint) used in various automotive, truck, and off-road vehicle applications. This series is often employed in heavy-duty industrial equipment, depending on the vehicle’s design and requirements.

Key Features of the P700 Series U-Joint Cross:

1. Size and Dimensions:
   • Cap Diameter: Typically around 1.968 inches (50 mm).
   • Cross Width: Usually around 4.645 inches (118 mm).
2. Material:
   • U-joints in the Series P700 category are typically made from high-strength steel to provide sufficient durability for moderate torque and rotational stress.
   • Some models may include grease fittings or be sealed units, allowing for easier maintenance and extended lifespan.
3. Durability and Performance:
   • The P700 Series U-joint is built to handle typical rotational forces in  Heavy-duty vehicles, providing flexibility and durability in the drivetrain.
   • Regular maintenance, especially lubrication (if applicable), can help maintain the performance and prevent wear over time.

Installation and Maintenance:

• Installation: When installing a P700 Series U-joint cross, ensuring proper alignment of the U-joint and the driveshaft components is critical for preventing undue stress and extending the lifespan of the driveline. Incorrect installation can lead to vibrations, noise, and potential failure.
• Maintenance: Proper lubrication (if applicable) is important for the longevity of the U-joint. Sealed units may not require regular greasing, while those with grease fittings should be periodically lubricated to ensure smooth operation.

If you’re replacing or maintaining a Series P700 U-joint, it is important to verify the specific part number for your vehicle’s application. Series P700 U-joints are widely available, and cross-referencing with the manufacturer’s guidelines will ensure proper compatibility.
